Jenny recently moved to Idaho and is excited about all our state has to offer such as trail running, mountain biking, hiking, and especially skiing. Jenny's active lifestyle has influenced her decision to work in orthopedics.


Scott Astley

Undergraduate: University of Northern Colorado
Master's: Saint Francis College
Physician Assistant Program: Red Rocks Community College

Scott was a member in the United States Armed Forces for seven years where he gained valuable experience in military medical clinics. In his spare time, he is an avid hockey player and has been for nearly 35 years. Additionally, Scott enjoys anything outdoors with his wife and two boys. 


Lindsey Carmichael

Undergraduate: Oregon Institute of Technology
Physician Assistant Program: Idaho State University

Lindsey has been a physician assistant for six years. During that time she gained experience in cardiology and general surgery in addition to her orthopedic experience here at DOC. Lindsey is a wife and mother that enjoys camping, fishing, mountain biking and traveling with her family.

After graduating from Idaho State University, Andy completed an orthopedic residency at Direct Orthopedic Care. Once he completed his residency Andy formally joined the DOC team as a PA. Andy is an Idaho native and has lived in Boise since 2002.

Jenny has an undergraduate degree is in modern dance and prior to physician assistant school she was an aerial dance instructor. Additionally, Jenny enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and camping adventures with her husband and dog.

Prior to attending college, Brett spent two years in Chile where he was able to master his fluency in Spanish. He is new to Idaho and moved from his home state, Washington with his wife and two daughters.

Tom has been in practice in the Treasure Valley since 2002. He is a member of the Idaho Association of Physician Assistants as well as the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Tom enjoys hunting, camping, and fishing with his family and friends.

Scott grew up all over the west but mostly in Idaho. He has always been interested in sports and orthopedics. When he is not working , he enjoys participating in sports, any outdoor activity, and spending time with his wife and two girls.
